Recycling at Vermont Law School

The Vermont Law School community is committed to reducing the amount of waster generated in the law school and to protecting the integrity of the recycling program by eliminating non-recyclable materials from the recycling containers.

As a reminder, recyclable items include:
  • all non-waxed paper (including colored paper), envelopes, newspaper, and box board which may be put in the same recycling container
  • all bound books should be put in a separate contain; contact B&G for pick-up
  • aluminum, tin, glass and plastic bottles
  • corrugated cardboard
Let's see how "empty" we can make our desk side trash containers. There are very few items that should be deposited in them. If you/your department needs more recycling containers, please inform one of us.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Recycling of Old Computers and Components

At Vermont Law School, we participate in an environmental e-waste program. Every time Raymond says he is "going to the dump," stuff goes to the Landfill/Transfer Station by exit 3. From there the electronic scrap goes to Middlebury, to a place called Good Point Recycling.

I have visited this facility and it is an impressive operation. Robin Ingenthron runs this and he does do lectures. It is possible to arrange for him to speak at VLS. They are closely associated with World Reuse, Repair and Recycling Association.
